Cat fight ——– Meaaw !

Posted in Movie gossip on August 1, 2010 by pinkupagli

YES! Indian Film Industry is enjoying a cat fight and the two hot cats are Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone- Oh! They are the enemies for life!

There is a cold war going on between them. Sonam Kapoor even rejected a film with Akshay Kumaar (who is ruling the Bollywood). I think this was a golden chance for Sonam kapoor to achive the success she desires, cause now-a-days every one things that Akshay Kumar is the lucky charm and the key to the success… :P

But poor dear! She refused this new movie because Deepika is assigned as a side actress in this movie.

This is one of the hottest gossips now-a-days, and I definitely want to share this. NO NO! Wait – none of them are my favorite actresses.

Two hot ladies Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are having a cold war between them. Ahem! Yes the reason is Ranvir Kapoor – because Deepika stole Sonam’s childhood lover RANVIR! :P

Well, as a new comer both of them Sonam and Deepika, are showing good acting skills. But I enjoy Sonam’s acting more than Deepika’s. Sonam takes 80lacs per film; on the other hand Deepika takes 1crore——————-wow! As a new comer it’s too much. Deepika is very lucky because her first Bollywood movie as with Shahruk Khan. I think, Shahruk’s support helped her to promote herself as a new comer. Sonam Kapoor has 1, 20,000 fans in her Twitter and Deepika is much ahead … she has 2, 80,000 fans in her Twitter page…

Sonam Kapoor was born in 9 June 1985 and she is the daughter of Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, and the granddaughter of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor She is the niece of producer Boney Kapoor, actress Sridevi, actor Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep Marwah.

Sonaam & Ranvir Kapoor

So Sonam has acting talent in her blood and she is always very proud of her Family background. Throughout her career she got many support from her family as they all were somehow related to the Film industry.

she also got nominated in many film Awards, Like: Filmfare Awards, Star Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards, Stardust Awards and she is also the Winner Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow – Female; for Saawariya(2008).

Deepika Padukone born 5 January 1986 is an Indian actress and a former model. Padukone made her acting debut in the 2006 Kannada film with Aishwarya. The following year, she made her Hindi film debut in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om which earned her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. In her beginning career she worked with KING KHAN – Shahruk and that brought so much fame and success for her.

Deepika & Ranvir Kapoor

She was also nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award, winner of Filmfare Best Female Debut Award & Sony Head N Shoulders Fresh Face of the Year.

So they both are same aged. Even their first movie (Savariya & Om Shanti Om) released on the same day. But they refused to work together. May be One reason is that they are competitors or it could be jealously. Ranvir is the main culprit and crated all these conflicts between these two young ladies. Love is really blind …….. lol :P

Even though Sonam Kapoor’s family is backing her fully but still Depeeka is one step ahead from her, without any family support or background.

SORRY BHAI !

Posted in Movie gossip on August 1, 2010 by pinkupagli

Mumbai Mantra and Puja Entertainment (India Limited) Present an Anticlock Films Production Sorry Bhai starring Sharman Joshi, Chitrangada Singh, Boman Irani, Shabana Azmi and Sanjay Suri.

It’s an unconventional story which traces the growing attraction between a woman (Chitrangada) for her fiancee’s younger brother Siddharth (Sharman Joshi), a few days before her wedding. She is all set to marry the ambitious, upwardly mobile stock broker, Harsh.

Harsh invites his close-knit family to Mauritius to attend his marriage ceremony. Harsh’s younger brother is a shy scientist (Siddharth Mathur) and he travels to Mauritius with his parents to attend his elder brother’s marriage. But unfortunately their mother was least interested in attending the wedding of her eldest son, because Hasrh is marrying a girl without consulting his parents. So his mother is very angry at him, but still somehow they convinced her to attend the wedding.

Dad (Boman Irani) and the charming scientist bro, are perfectly supportive of his sudden decision, but mom (Shabana Azmi) is skeptical of the potential daughter-in-law and isn’t too eager to accept her in the family fold.

But a disconcerting mom-in-law isn’t the only problem the wannabe bride must counter. Harsh (the groom) is very busy with his works so he couldn’t give enough time to his family to escort them everywhere in Mauritius. So Aaliyah escorts Siddhart everywhere in Mauritius and shows him the beautiful places of that country. Both Aaliyah and Siddharth spend much time together and they started to feel attracted towards each other. Aaliyah starts feeling neglected by Harsh, because he is busy spending all his time to building his career.

She doesn’t hide her feelings for her fiancée’s brother and even Siddharth could not overcome his obsession for his brother’s fiancée.

Scientist brother has just two passions in life. He loves jazz and wants to make his wooden dog fly as part of his lifetime research on kinetic energy which declares that everything has life! (WHAT A LOL)

The funniest part is when his family nonchalantly keeps posing the query: KUTTA URA KEYA??? (Did the dog fly?)

Their relation began to grow and they became very intimate. Younger brother too can’t keep his eyes off from his delectable bhabhi-to-be, even though he loves his elder brother and cannot dream of hurting him. As the movie progresses, the story has many twists.

I laughed a lot!! Even I told my two brothers to watch this movie. This movie ends on a happy note. So much understanding between two brothers..lol

If this type of situation ever occurs in my family, I guess my brothers would end up killing each other. I loved Boman Irani’s performance; in the movie his sole entertainment is pulling his wife’s leg.

Well, this movie is actually about the complexities of relationships, not those kinds of (rich-poor) complexities of relationships we see in usual Bollywood movies. This movie is also about the bonding between two brothers.

————–’Sorry Bhai’ gives you a faint smile and doesn’t make you feel sorry for the money and time spent on the flick :)

It’s a Wonderful Afterlife

Posted in Movie gossip on July 31, 2010 by pinkupagli

Yesterday I saw a movie named ‘It’s a Wonderful Afterlife’ … wow! What a title for a movie. Yes! This title grabbed my attention and I decided to by this DVD even though the actor actresses are not famous.

The story is very interesting, so I thought to share it …

It’s a Wonderful Afterlife deals with the lives of a mother-daughter duo who are settled in London.

Mrs Sethi (Shabana Azmi) is a worried mom and she is worried to get her frumpy, overweight daughter get married before she joins her dear departed husband in heaven. But there seem to be no boys willing to marry her girl and her hopes begin to sag. Every match she arranges turns Roopi down, which leads Mrs Sethi to react murderously. She can’t bear the thought of her daughter being alone and live unhappy for the rest of her life. She is so much depressed that she ends up killing those people who rejected her fairly round daughter Roopi and those victims become ghosts. Mrs. Sethi can see those dead peoples and those ghosts follow her everywhere. But no one believes that, even her daughter thought that her mother is getting mad because of her tensions. The ghosts of her victims ask her to let them off purgatory by getting the girl married.

On the other hand, the city is rocked by a series of serial killings. Everyone is worried and frightened of this serial killer. Police hunt begins for a serial murderer and hires a detective. Fortunately, Roopi’s childhood friend Murthy (Ramamurthy) is back in town and hugely eligible. Unfortunately, he is the detective who is looking for the murderer and asked to court Roopi to find leads on the murders.

The police suspect that Mrs. Sethi’s daughter is the serial killer. So to investigate the serial murderer, that the Desi detective Senthil Ramamurthy takes an undue interest in the jalebi-guzzling girl. But unfortunately Roopi falls in love with this Cop and believes his counterfeits.

Mrs. Sethi doesn’t feel too guilty until the spirits of her victims come back to haunt her, as they are unable to be reincarnated until their murderer dies. Mrs. Sethi has no problem killing herself, because she’ll get to see her dead husband again. But how can she go before her daughter is married? The spirits realize that helping Mrs. Sethi find a suitable husband for her daughter, before the police catch her and this is their only chance for a wonderful afterlife.

This is a comedy movie. I liked the cheesy make-up and effects and eye-rolling performances. Mrs. Sethy’s killing techniques are very unique and funny. She kills those victims with kitchen equipments as roller pin, dough and vegetables. Shabana Azmi is absolutely natural in her act but this certainly isn’t amongst her best works. Sanjeev Bhaskar is noteworthy amongst the four ghosts. the ending is not that funny but still i liked the movie. :)

RATATOUILLE

Posted in Movie gossip on July 29, 2010 by pinkupagli

Ratatouille is directed by Academy Award winner Director Brad bird. This is a animated movie by Pixar Studios. The film’s protagonist is a rat named Remy who dares to dream the impossible dream of becoming a gourmet chef in a five star French restaurant. This movie is about one of the most unlikely friendships imaginable.

Not everyone can be a great artist -- But a great artist can come from anywhere!!

Remy lives in the attic of a French country home with his brother Emile and a pack led by his father Django. Gifted with a keen sense of smell and taste, Remy aspires to be a gourmet chef, inspired by France’s recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau, but instead his talent is put to work in sniffing for rat poison. He hates his job, so he decides to live his place, and risks death to enter a human kitchen where he discovers real food and his inspirer, Anton Gusteau. Linguini, a clumsy youth hired as a garbage boy in that restaurant. While cleaning the kitchen Linguini spills some of the soup and attempts to recreate it using random ingredients. Remy encounters that from the shelf where he was hiding and he is horrified to see his deed. Instead of escaping, Remy fixes the soup which Linguini accidentally fouls.

Unfortunately Remy is caught by Linguini just as Linguini is caught by Skinner, but before anyone can stop the serving staff, the soup is served. Luckily the soup is a success and Linguini’s career as a chef is born.

Linguini is aware of Remy’s innovation, so he takes him home instead of killing him. Thus starts a strange friendship but productive friendship, as the talentless Linguini becomes little more than a puppet for the creative Remy.

Two Friends: Remy & Linguine

These strange friends find a means to overcome their language barrier, with Remy pulling Linguini’s hair under his toque hat and coordinates meal preparations with hair-pulling. Linguine gets credit for the well-received concoctions and rises in the restaurant’s ranks, to the frustration of Skinner, who can’t figure out either how the guy is pulling it off or what the significance of an oft-spotted but elusive rat may be.

Well, this movie is defiantly a hilarious new animated-adventure by Pixar. There is nothing fancy in the writing, nothing redundant. Everything seems clean, simple and down to the point but there are some elements that probably will need to be explained to kids. But I think this story is more for adults than for kids. I think most kids would nod off as they will not enjoy some elements like drinking wine, killing the rats with guns and poisons. All the characters are not the most well-defined except Remy and Lingui. I liked the graphics. It’s fantastic! It also has the magical images of Paris, which is so full of art sense, artistic and delightful. The characters especially the rat and Linguini are adorable and cute. The foodie aspect is the most interesting part to me. The gourmet meals served up in Ratatouille are so luscious even I drooled… lol! For this movie I would give 8 out of 10.

Imagine Rats…in the kitchen ..and cooking.. !! I don’t think it would be a great idea though :P

WALL•E

Posted in Movie gossip on July 19, 2010 by pinkupagli

WALL•E, is a 2008 computer-animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Andrew Stanton. After directing Finding Nemo, Stanton felt Pixar had created believable simulations of underwater physics and was willing to direct a film largely set in space.

Throughout the 21st century, Earth was governed by the Buy n Large (BnL) mega corporation, causing mass consumerism and covering the planet in trash by 2105. In an attempt to resolve the situation, BnL evacuated Earth’s population on fully automated luxury Star liners for five years while an army of trash compactor robots called “WALL-E” were left behind to clean up the planet. Seven hundred years later, in 2805, only one WALL-E remains active, have survived by salvaging parts for himself from other defunct WALL-E units.

After hundreds of lonely years of cleaning up the planet — WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life. Besides collecting knick-knacks, he encounters a sleek search robot named EVE – the love of his life and he follows her into outer space on an adventure that changes the destiny of both his kind and humanity.

Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across the universe 700 years into the future is a pet cockroach and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

One day while collecting knick-knacks from the mountains of trash, WALL-E discovers a seedling plant growing in the soil and he returns it to his home. Later, a spaceship lands and deploys EVE, an advanced probe robot to search signs of plant life in Earth. WALL-E immediately falls in love with the initially aloof and hostile EVE.

During a dust storm, WALL-E takes EVE to his home and shows her the plant in the boot. EVE comes to realize that WALL-e has unknowingly stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future. Her automated system stores the plant inside her body, activates a homing beacon for her ship, and shuts her down.

The humans were eagerly waiting aboard in the luxury spaceship Axiom for EVE’s findings and news that, it is safe to return home.

WALL-E took care of her, even went on a date with the inactive robot, in the hope that she will reactivate but unfortunately EVE’s ship returns to collect her. Hero WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and tries to get her back in the Earth.

The human passengers in the ship have suffered severe bone loss and become morbidly obese. Even The captain himself does little, leaving control of the ship to its robotic autopilot. Afterwards, when EVE was opened, the plant was missing. She was considered defective and was taken to the robot repair ward with WALL-E. EVE gets Angry with WALL-E’s disruptive influence and takes him to the escape pod bay to send him back to Earth. There they witness the missing plant. WALL-E escapes with the plant unharmed, and EVE gratefully gives him a “kiss” in the form of an electric spark.

EVE brings WALL-E’s body back to his home and successfully repairs and reactivates him. Unfortunately, WALL-E’s memory and personality appear to have been erased as he reverts to his original trash-compacting duties. Heartbroken, EVE gives him a farewell electric spark “kiss” that reboots his memory and restores him to his usual self, happily reuniting the two robots. WALL-E and EVE rejoin the humans and robots as they begin working together to restore Earth, taking care to plant the seedling that brought them back home.

wooow!! I loved this movie, WALLE-E and EVE both were very cute, even though they do not have actual human voices, but instead communicate with body language and robotic sounds. This movie was hilarious and touching too. I laughed, I cried, sometimes out of sentimentality but mostly out of sadness. A world without growing plants, water, mountains is indeed uninhabitable and horrible. We can learn a lot from this movie— we should not cut our trees, stop wasting foods, water and should come forward to stop pollution to save our planet and our future.

Angelina Jolie’s new action movie, “Salt” releasing on July 23. The movie is about an American spy who is accused of being a double agent, is the true meaning of life imitating art. Access Hollywood reports that a woman recently accused of being a spy is awaiting a bail hearing in New York.

As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. With each attempt Salt makes to prove her innocence, her mentor, Winter (Liev Schreiber), only grows more suspicious of her true motivations. The longer she eludes capture by ambitious CIA agent Peabody (Chiwetel Ejiofor), the higher the stakes get.

Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt’s efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: “Who Is Salt?”

Oh! I can’t wait to find, who is this — Salt!

This movie took place on various locations in Washington, DC and New York City between March and June 2009. While shooting an action scene Jolie suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital, but she was released the same day with no life-threatening injuries and filming was resumed.

I am her great fan and can’t wait to see this movie, Salt. Angelina Jolie is one of my favorite American actresses. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. She has been cited as one of the world’s most attractive people, as well as the world’s “most beautiful” woman.

Well, to me she is an action woman!! Angelina Jolie rocks!!

TWO LITTLE FEET, ONE LONG JOURNEY—>BUMM BUMM BOLE

Posted in Movie gossip on June 26, 2010 by pinkupagli

“Bumm Bumm Bole” is a family entertainer film by Priyadarshan. This movie is an ‘official’ adaptation of the award winning Iranian film Children of Heaven. The main hero of this movie is a kid (Darsheel Safary). I hope you all know this raising star. He is best known for his highly critically acclaimed portrayal of a dyslexic child in Taare Zameen Par (2007). The theme of this movie is a unique brother-sister relationship.

The story is set in a terrorist dominated area where a small family of tea plantation workers lives. Pinu’s (Darsheel) parents are tea plantation workers and earn meager income. But they always wanted to give their children good education. So they sent Pinu and his sister Zia to a reputed school.

But unfortunately Zia lose her school shoes in a grocery shop. They both were afraid of their parent’s wrath. On the other hand, his father and mother have both recently lost their jobs and the struggle for survival seems to be taking precedence over all other matters. Alas! The brother was really worried for his sister’s school shoes. He tries to flatter the sister into keeping quiet in the hope that he will get her a new pair of shoes at the earliest. After a few days, he encounters that pair of shoe in a small footwear shop. He tries to collect some money to buy that for his sister. Priyadharshan has very perceptively carved out the innocent and poignant story of two siblings and the dilemmas they face in life and how they fight their way to overcome it.

This movie is surely going to bring out the child inside all of us…

TWO LITTLE FEET, ONE LONG JOURNEY….BUMM BUMM BOLE

What hold my interests was Darsheel and Atul Kulkarni’s the performance. This is his second film and his acting is very professional. He uses his body, his eyes and his hands expressively. His sister is very cute. They both looked very innocent and their acting was very natural. I guess all the kids will definitely enjoy this movie.

Shooting of This movie was in Kashmir. I loved the beautiful locations and heels in northern India. I would give 9/10 for the location. The background music is superb…(Music is given by Azaan Sami,Tapas Relia,M.G. Sreekumar)

But the funniest thing to me was that, He was wearing braces in a few scenes especially those in the second half of the film. A poor village kid with metal glinting in his mouth???!!! Oh, how they love to insult our intelligence….. lol!

Movie is really sweet simple and very …. Very innocent … all the characters come so natural, that’s why it touched my heart. It is very different than usual Bollyhood movies. According to me, Priyadarshan is successful to show a beautiful brother-sister relationship.
